For a long time, Sesame Street has focused on the basics to teach children. Now a new era has been ushered in. In order to adapt to our changing world, Sesame Workshop has hired “Cookie Rae Jepsen” to sing a spoof of the pop song, “Call Me Maybe.” The monster calls it “Share It Maybe,” the “it” referring to cookies (what else?)
Cookie monster sings “Hey, me just met you, and this is crazy / But you got cookie, so share it maybe?” Fallacious grammar aside, by making key attributes such as developing social skills and sharing enjoyable for children, Sesame Workshop hopes to adjust to this new society of pop music videos. With almost 7 million views in the first week, and about 60,000 likes, there seems to be nothing wrong with that.
Note that there were 2,149 dislikes, probably originating from that ever-so envious Oscar the Grouch. That green-(white-eyed) monster always was jealous of Cookie monster’s singing capabilities. genZbuzz out.
